How do I confirm the source of the funds?

As soon as the funds (token equivalent) deposited into your account (usually within one calendar month) exceed US$20,000 (€18,000), we will send you a notice asking you to confirm the source of funds. 

We ask you to confirm the source of funds by sending a scanned copy or photo of documents that show where the funds have been received. Please check what copies or photos of documents you can provide to verify the source of the funds. Make sure that they are up to date (i.e. usually no more than a year old) and legibly display all information: 

Your pay (salary or remuneration):

  • pay slips for the past three months
  • civil-law contract
  • employment contract
  • statements of bank accounts showing the movement of funds received
  • tax declarations, statements of accomplished works (rendered services)
  • other appropriate contracts (for self-employed persons and artisans)
  • other documents confirming the source of funds

Savings:

  • a bank statement showing your current bank account balance (deposits/receipts/transfers to you)
  • an appropriate contract confirming your savings
  • information (certificate) on your income in the form of interest
  • other documents confirming the source of your funds

Real estate for sale:

  • contract of sale of real estate
  • a bank statement showing the flow of funds into your bank account as a result of the sale
  • other documents confirming the source of funds

Cryptocurrency: 

  • relevant documents showing your cryptocurrency balance and any deposits/withdrawals over the past three months
  • transaction history and screenshots proving your ownership of the corresponding crypto-wallet or account
  • statement confirming transfer of the corresponding amount of funds to the crypto-platform/other person providing similar services
  • other documents confirming the source of funds

Loan: 

  • a copy of the loan agreement and a bank statement indicating the funds received, as well as the corresponding bank statements showing the movement of the funds received
  • a copy of the microloan agreement and a similar extract if funds have been provided to the corresponding bank account
  • other documents confirming the source of funds

Inheritance:

  • certificate of Inheritance and bank statements showing funds received and your current balance
  • bank statements showing the movement of funds received
  • other documents showing the source of the funds

Dissolution of marriage:

  • a statement of receipt of the amount of money in the bank account
  • other documents confirming the source of funds

Judgment:

  • an effective court order that decides on the merits of the case (in the case of an appeal, the relevant effective ruling)
  • bank statements showing the movement of funds received
  • other documents confirming the source of funds

It is also possible to confirm the source of funds with documents on: 

  • receipt of rent (appropriate contracts)
  • pension receipt
  • lottery/gambling winnings
  • movement of funds through bank accounts
